Do you check reviews before going out to see a movie?

Do you? I RARELY check reviews because I often find that I don't agree with them and therefore their opinions don't stop me from watching the movies I want or like to watch. But it some cases, it seems like reviewers hit the hammer on the nail - or whatever that cliche is. Doesn't it, though? Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have wasted $10 at the movie (plus popcorn, which is another $6) on a movie that ends up being really dumb, unoriginal, and pointless. *sigh*.

How do you feel about this? Do you make it a habit to check ratings and reviews before seeing a movie? Or do you just go see whatever you want, with little regard to reviewer's opinions?

The VS semi-annual sale

Well, it's that time of year again. The VS semi-annual sale started again a few days ago! I'm wondering if anyone else checked it out and got some deals. I finally went today and I actually had a blast (although spent $70!) I got a bra for $15, and a couple pairs of panties for $3.99 each. It was a pretty sweet deal all in all!

I'm wondering what kind of deals you've gotten at the semi-annual, this one or ones of the past. Do share!

The tattoo design meanings

Our body is sacred and it is a gift so I am not in favor of tattoo. It’s my responsibility to take care of it and applying a tattoo would seem not honoring my body. There are things that are accepted to society but not accepted to all people. Definitely, my family won't ever have a tattoo. On the other hand, we are living in the modern world so we can't control for whatever trend that will come out. Tattoos have been since ever a symbol for some meaning that was related with it. The tattoo design meanings can be of spiritual nature but can also be a sign of strength or supremacy, harmony and other persona.

Though I am not in favor of it, I still do respect the decisions of those who like to apply tattoo in their body. I have friends who have tattoos in their bodies, yet my friendship with them doesn't change. I believe that we are given the gift to choose for ourselves.

I love dogs

I do love dogs, though they are a lot of work. My boyfriend and I would like to get one, so sharing the responsibilities will make it easier. We are looking to go to the pound and just getting a calm, medium-sized mut. Can’t wait!

life without dogs is not life at all. I’m having dogs since i was 6 and i cant imagine my life without them. I’ve got an old hungarian vizsla (10yrs) and a young crossbreed (3yrs). they complete my life. But i hate people who buy a dog or more and cant take care of them. and the dogs are suffering because people don't care. Don't buy dogs if you cant take care and buy them the best dog food.

My Favorite Books!

I ask only because it seems like 99% of the books I read for school were totally bad, bland, horrible, and non-contreversial. Which are not my types of books. LOL. My question for you is: which were your FAVORITE books that you were required to read in school? The ones you actually enjoyed? When did you read them (what grade/age), what's it called, and why did you like it so much?

The only two I can think of are ones I read in middle school, around 6th or 7th grade. One was called "Watership Down", and it was really gruesome at the time but totally life-changing. (Ha, I can't remember how, but it was really good!) It was actually about rabbits... But it was analogy for war and loss and politics and things that people can relate to. The other one I loved reading was "The Hobbit", the pre-lude to the Lord of the Rings series. I never actually got around to reading the actual "LOTR" books, as I got too bored halfway through the first one, but I thought the Hobbit was totally amazing! There was action at every page. Very imaginative. Very cool at the time.

The Twilight books

Are the Twilight books ACTUALLY worth reading? I'm sure you're thrilled. LOL. But this one isn't coming from an obsessive fan; it's coming from someone looking in from the outside and wondering whether or not it's worthwhile to actually read the rest of the series. I read the first one a few years back..And while I thought the "love story" aspect of it (which seems to be the MAIN aspect if you ask me), was cute, but I was totally bored by how .. lovey-dovey and dramatic it was. I had gone into reading them because I figured there would be a lot of suspense and thrill, which most supernatural teen books have plenty of, and I felt like I was reading a Danielle Steel novel (with a slight twist, of course). I felt honestly disappointed, and that's the main reason I haven't gone back to reading the rest of the series.

Does anyone else share my opinion on this? Were you PLEASANTLY or UNPLEASANTLY surprised with how the books turned out?

And for those of you who've read these books already, tell me: can I expect more adventure in the 2nd and 3rd book? Or are the other books a continuum of what I noticed before: a slightly boring, love-centered "romance" book (with an edge)?

What should I come to expect? Is it worth reading the rest of the series, do you think?
