The new LG DoublePlay™

LG takes a different approach to Android smartphones with the DoublePlay. It's a sideways slider with full QWERTY keyboard and a trick, second display that lets you multitask like no other Android phone. The LG DoublePlay also comes with a 5.0-megapixel camera that is able to record videos at 720p and is able to support microSD cards of up to 32GB. The device also offers multiple messaging options, including Cloud Text and Group Text, giving users the ability to send and receive texts from a PC or tablet or create group chats on-the-go for faster, more efficient content sharing.

My friends are now seriously considering buying this.

From the beautiful box that this device comes in (nice art work-very different and unique) to actual look and feel, this device has yet to disappoint me. I heard so many negative comments from folks and blogs from people who were just guessing based on previous dual screen device. This is way different, actually very practical device for everyday use. I am a college student and the 2 screens come very handy. The split keyboard is very simple and the raised keys are great for texting. I like the blue back light for evening/low light use. I am glad that the second screen options are limited and T-Mobile and LG chose the 9 most important use cases for this second screen. More choices mean more complexity which of course I don’t want. People say this is a heavy phone but I didn’t notice that. I compared it to 4 other phones at the store (Sidekick, Mytouch slide 4g, HTC Amaze and BlackBerry Torch) and this is very comparable to those. I like the overall finish and looks of this phone!
