How to Survive a Live-In Relationship

Man is a Social Animal and needs a relationship with another individual. Now this relationship can either be a committed one or it could be a live-in relationship.

Fear of commitment comes into the picture for couples, which want a relationship, but do not want to commit to it.

WHY?

Commitment leads to sacrificing one's time and who has the time these days. Such individuals want to stay together and be able to satisfy their diverse needs without the need for commitment.

We all are living in a busy world where each second is equal to a diamond. Time is precious and commitment needs time and effort. Now, in a competitive world where technology is changing in a wink of an eye, how can someone part with time?

Each individual needs a person to confide in. That's how a relationship came into existence. This individual in a relationship can be your wall against all the odds you are facing. This individual will be sitting with you even if the world has shut its doors and windows. That can only come when there is commitment.

Let's discuss the Pros and Cons of a live-in Relationship.

Talking about Pros (Advantages) of a live-in Relationship

• A live-in Relationship gives a couple an over-view of what to expect from each other.

• Get to know each other's habits and dislikes in person.

• This gives them a no-regret certificate if the relationship did not work out. Dissolving a relationship is easier than dissolving a marriage.

Talking about Cons (Dis-advantages) of a live-in Relationship

• Society does not take a live-in Relationship so well. Such couples should get used to the frowns around them.

• Since there is no commitment involved; such relationships can fizzle when an individual hits a big wall in his/her life.

• If such a relationship does turn into a marriage, there is no excitement and fun involved 'cause the individual is like a clean slate for the other person in a relationship. Boredom strikes easily.

• Statistics reveal that a couple from a live in relationship feel less healthy and have higher rates of mortality than the couple that are committed in a relationship. The reason could be the society, which frown upon live-in relationships while a married couple is better connected to the community.

How to survive a live-in Relationship?

As long as a couple are affectionate and compassionate about each other's needs and feelings. They can test out their relationship for a specific period before they commit to it.

A time period given to a relationship will help a couple know what they desire from each other and that will not lead to boredom or the society frowning upon them.

Eventually each relationship should get commitment. That is a healthy living for the couple and it gives their offspring's a healthy and a happy environment to live.
